Cambodia’s Defence Ministry Facilitates IOT Inspection of Bombing Site in Oddar Meanchey

Phnom Penh, October 4, 2025 — The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia announced that on Saturday morning it facilitated a field visit by the Interim Observer Team (IOT), led by Malaysia and joined by its members, to inspect the areas impacted by recent aerial bombardments.

The delegation visited Thmor Duan village, Kork Morn Commune, Banteay Ampil District, Oddar Meanchey Province, where a jet fighter dropped an MK84 bomb prior to the ceasefire agreement. The inspection aimed to enable observers to witness firsthand the affected sites, verify the situation, and prepare a report following the implementation of the ceasefire.

Her Excellency Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, confirmed the visit, underlining Cambodia’s commitment to transparency and cooperation with the international community in ensuring the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire.
